About this object
This photograph depicts damaged buildings after the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931.
The building in the far left of the photograph has been identified as Murray Roberts and Co. Ltd which was at the corner of Emerson Street and Marine Parade.
It is thought that the building central to the photograph was the Masonic Hotel.
