Looking south, signs advertising Darby’s Stores Limited Novelty Depot, Howe Brothers (bookseller and stationer), Thorps and Company (boot sellers), Goon Lee Chong and Company (fruiterers) and Bestall and Griffin (drapers) are visible. To the right, a tram makes its way along Hastings street. Behind the tram to the left can be seen the Masonic Hotel.
