About this object
View of the intersection of Browning Street and Hastings Street that is thought to have been taken around 1927. Looking south, the Hannah's Buildings and the Abbott Building are visible on the left. Signs advertising Darby’s Stores Limited, Henderson (chemist and optician), J C Chadwick (bookseller and stationer) and Parker and Company Limited (tailor and outfitters) can also be seen along this side of the street. On the opposite side of Hastings Street, a sign advertising the bookseller Howe Brothers is visible. On Hastings Street, a tram stops to pick up pedestrians.
