About this object
This photograph depicts the building in which Murray Roberts and Co Offices operated in, on the corner of Marine Parade and Emerson Street.

The building was been destroyed by the Hawke's Bay earthquake and the fires that followed on the 3rd of February 1931.

Originally this building had two levels, the YMCA located on the upper floor.

Marine Parade and the Norfolk pines that line it can be seen to the left of the photograph.
