About this object
This photograph depicts a view of the damaged buildings on Hastings Street, from the Marine Parade side. The destruction caused to central Napier was from the Hawke's Bay earthquake on the 3rd of February 1931. A small amount of signage is visible on a damaged building in the top right corner of the photograph and has been identified as T Parker, general outfitters, owned by Tom Parker, located on Hastings Street.
