The land is to be sold by public auction at the Garrison Hall, Marine Parade, Napier on Friday October 23, 1908. C B Hoadley & son - auctioneers have been instructed by the HON J D Ormond to sell a portion of his well known estate, to be subdivided into 11 blocks from 82 acres to 1,566 acres in size.
Land lots with area sizes are situated about 14 miles from the Waipukurau railway station, around the Turaekaetae swamp, the main road from Waipukurau Porangahau and the Mangawhero Stream at the Southern end. The Manga Te Weke Stream runs through blocks 9 to 11 at the South Western portion of the land. A locality plan is included showing the general area to be South West of Wanstead and North West of Wallingford.
