The photograph shows the Sphinx at Cairo. There are camels in the foreground. On the back is a letter addressed to Mrs W E (Maud) Cooper. The author talks about having reached Alexandria and spending the day there and heading towards Zeetun (Zeitoun). There is a red Egyptian stamp attached to the top right hand corner and over is a franking stamp which reads: N.Z. Military Post Office Dec 9 1914 Expeditionary Force.
