Brief Description
A World War I postcard addressed to Miss Widdowson and Miss Galloway of Kent, England from W and W, and postmarked 29 September 1914. The note thanks them for sending a letter.
The image on the front is a sketch of a large lion head and mane. There is a Union Jack in the corner. Along the bottom it reads: The glory of a lion is his mane. Printed on the back is: The mane is not merely a glorious ornament but a real protection. Within the mane can be seen the words: Canada, India, Australia, New Zealand, African, Colonies. There is a half penny green postage stamp fixed to the top right hand corner.
