Brief Description
A detailed map of Poukawa land block copied by J D H Buchanan on 21 April 1949 from a master plan in the possession of C M White. Written on Buchanan's copy is the inscription from the original map: Plan of Poukawa Block, Native Reserve, Te Aute District, showing classification of land, fences and native kaiangas (sic). Scale 5 chains to an inch.
J D H Buchanan has noted that the original map was unsigned and undated and that it shows smaller subdivisions, names of Maori owners, and areas and classifications of land. His map is drawn on a scale of 40 chains to one inch and includes notes regarding additional topography sources.
