Rural lands open for selection in the Cook and Wairoa counties.
The crown lands will be open for sale or selection in terms of section 136 of the Land Act - 1902, either for cash or occupation with rights to purchase of lease in perpetuity, on and after Wednesday November 12, 1902. The land consists of 1 and 2 class land, which has been surveyed, consisting of 6,139 acres situated around the following areas:
a) Nuhaka North survey district, No 4 - block 17 and No 1 to 3, block 16 - Opoiti survey district, which is first class land. N McDonald has land bordering lots for sale or selection.
b) Uawa survey district, near the Mangaheia River.
c) Block 3, Uawa survey district, bordering the Mangatokerau block and the Mangatokerau Stream.
d) Hangaroa survey district, bordering the Hangaroa River.
e) Nuhaka North, bordering the Waiau River. F E Gaddum has adjoining land to the lots for sale or selection and the Makaka Stream.
f) Opoiti survey district, adjoining the Mangapoike blocks, which is first class land.
g) Motu district, situated around the Waikohu Stream and the Waimare Stream - first class land. A Smith borders lot 6 and Mr Beaufoy's land adjoins block 6 and 11.
A locality map shows the general areas to be around Tolaga Bay, Gisborne, Te Kapu and Mahia. E C Goldsmith is noted as being the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
