The land is to be sold by public auction at the Criterion Hotel, Napier on Wednesday March 28, 1883. Hoadley, Lyon & Co are to be the auctioneers.

Land lots with area sizes are situated around Hall Street, Ormond Street and Bowen Street. C H Weber has land adjoining Ross Street, where a proposed railway line runs through. W R Russell owns lot 35 bordering the main railway line and Bowen Street. Murphy's Hotel is noted on the corner of Vogel Street and McLean Street.
