Brief Description
A tracing paper book attributed to James Walker containing research materials.

a) Sketch in red and white paint and pencil on black card. Date unknown.

b) Photocopy of an image of a face, possibly made from an original drawing or print. Date unknown.

c) Sheet of paper with graphite sketches of six human faces. The work is signed. Date unknown.

d) Four colour block print (black, blue, orange, and yellow) on paper. The print is signed AV. It is dated 1988. The edition number 8/40 is handwritten in the bottom left hand corner.

e) Colour woodblock print on paper reproducing Gaifu kaisei (South Wind, Clear Sky) by Katsushika Hokusai from the series Fugaku sanjurokkei (Thirty-six Views of Mt Fuji). The print has been glued to a piece of paper along the top edge of the print. Date unknown.

f) Ink drawing on lined paper representing a male face and torso overlaid with leaves and a flower. Date unknown.

g) Reproduction of the ink drawing above (f), printed on photographic paper. Date unknown.

h) Collage on paper, representing a watch where the face has been replaced with the head of a dog, possibly a beagle. The work is signed. It is dated 1978.

i) Four page brochure, containing advertisements for: The Mountain Shirt, Pure Virgin Wood; English Sewing (Sales) Limited; Lady Summit; and Wraunchy Wrangler denims. Date unknown.

j) Ink drawing on tracing paper over a drawing on white paper pasted to black card. Possibly a design for a stained glass window. Date unknown.

k) Two designs printed on acetate. Possibly designs for a pair of stained glass windows. Date unknown.

l) Six sheets of A3 paper beaing the coat of arms of the The University of Auckland Te Whare Wānanga o Tāmaki Makaurau. The crest contains three kiwi and an open book surrounded by three stars. The motto reads: Ingenio et labore. Date unknown.

m) Four colour screenprint (green, blue, pink and yellow) on paper with a gloss finish. The following title has been handwritten in pencil along the bottom of the print: Badkaze of Zimmerman. The work has been signed F P W [?], and is dated 1979.

n) Sheet of black card with 12 printed cards attached to the surface in a grid pattern. The cards are possibly business cards as the address and phone number of James Walker is printed along the bottom of each of the cards. Date unknown.

o) Photocopy on A3 paper of an abstract painting or drawing. Date unknown.

p) Photocopy on A3 paper of an sketch titled Don't Snap at the Children Dear from a spiral bound notebook. Date unknown.

r) Hand coloured black and white lithograph on paper published by Currier and Ives captioned: American Homestead Winter. The print represents a landscape scene with a homestead and outbuildings. It is possibly a later reproduction. Date unknown.

s) Three quotes printed on paper with two small illustrations. The quotes are possibly of Shaker origin. Date unknown.

t) Photoengraving published by Moore and Company, New York, captioned: First Pair of Pants. The print represents a mother and son in a domestic interior. There is a small dog at the boy's feet. Date unknown.

u) Photocopy on A3 paper of an advertisement for the 85th Glassworkz. Date unknown.

v) Design for a set of stained glass windows. Two copies. The first copy of the design is hand drawn on paper with a card frame. It is glued onto a sheet of black card. The second copy of the design has been printed on photographic paper. It is housed in a folded sheet of tracing paper that slots over one edge of the card backing.

w) Abstract design printed on paper. A version of this design appears on the business cards mentioned in part l above.
