Brief Description
A telegram sent by Sandford of Sandford and Marsden in New Plymouth to the Transport Department in Napier after the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

The telegram requests a permit to visit Napier to view damaged buildings for Taylor, an architect, and for building contractors Sandford and Marsden. The telegram is handwritten on a printed New Zealand Post Office Telegraphs form and has an octagonal postmark dated 11 March 1931. The telegram is numbered 439. It has a letter reply paid stamp.

On the reverse side of the telegram is the reply sent by the Transport Officer, Hyde.
