Brief Description
Catalogue which accompanied the exhibition Pacific Glass 1983. The exhibition showed a survey of contemporary glass art from five Pacific rim countries, curated by the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery with the assistance of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand and the Embassy of the United States of America. It toured under the auspices of the New Zealand Art Gallery Directors' Council.

Five thousand copies of the catalogue were made in association with the exhibition which was held at the Govett-Brewster Gallery from 8 April - 15 May 1983 and subsequently toured throughout New Zealand during 1983- 1985. This particular copy of the catalogue belonged to James Walker who exhibited at the exhibition a stained glass panel titled: Pussycat 159, 1981-2, which was in the collection of the artist at that time. There is an invitation to the opening reception on 8 April 1983 glued to the first page of the catalogue.

The exhibition catalogue is accompanied by a sales list of the items included in the catalogue which shows that the piece James Walker exhibited was not for sale.

In addition there is a letter and envelope from the Registrar, Joan Comer, of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery to James Walker to arrange the safe return of his panel to him at the end of the touring exhibition dated 6 June 1985.
