Brief Description
A letter (a) addressed to the secretary of the Hawke's Bay Cultural Trust, and a facsimile sheet (b) with details of family members who survived the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, from R G Alexander.

a) In the covering letter, signed by R G Alexander, he writes that in request to a newspaper article looking for further information on the Napier earthquake, that he has put together something on his family which he hopes will be helpful. He mentions that those listed are all genuine Napier people.

b) With the letter is a sheet of facsimile paper dated 4 March 2001, addressed to the Hawke's Bay Cultural Trust. It mentions that two more children were born after the earthquake. The page is divided into columns, listing the name, age at 1931, date of death, and employment details of each family member. The family members listed are: Thomas Oates Alexander; Vera Pearl Alexander; Thomas Henry Alexander; Betty Warrington Alexander; Nancy Phillips Alexander; Ralph Goddard Alexander; Margaret Oates Alexander and Cedric William Hudson Alexander.

The author writes at the bottom of the page that there were two boys born after the earthquake who are still alive. He also writes that there are still two boys alive who were born before the earthquake, who are available for comment, but are retired from work. He lists them as Cedric and Ralph.
