Object detail
Brief Description
A letter from E G Russ writing that she would like to add a little more to the form asking to recount experiences of the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
She writes that she, her mother and her younger brother and sister, were walking home along Russell Street at the time of the earthquake. Her brother who was 18 months old and in his pram, was killed, and her sister who was 4 years old, was badly hurt. The author was only slightly hurt. She explains that the letter is difficult to write and that it would be easier to explain in a face-to-face meeting.
