Object detail
Brief Description
Letter from Edmund Lee and a deposit slip in the name of Eria Ruka. In the letter Edmund Lee asks for the rent payment to be paid to him so he can disperse it to several debtors. Also attached is a deposit slip that has been endorsed by Claude H Williams in the name of Eria Ruka and a second letter. The second letter is from the postmaster in Waipawa. He states that Eria Ruka cannot cash the savings bank warrant unless it is endorsed by a responsible European. He then goes on to add that any Māori with such a warrant must get the endorsement before it can be paid out.
