Brief Description
Food requisitions used during the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.

Six undated, handwritten food requisitions. Each requisition is written on a scrap of paper and has an identification number:

a) Number 20 has a signature, the surname may be Cranford or Crawford.

b) Number 32 has a signature, possibly G Couper.

c) Number 122 is headed Transport office and the name H Hunter, Glenlyon. The requisition is approved and has initials possibly A H. It is written on the blank side of a Central Earthquake Relief Committee form numbered 177.

d) Number 123 is headed A Hyde, Transport Office. The requisition is for three people. It is written on the blank side of a Central Earthquake Relief Committee form numbered 295.

e) Number 145 is headed H Crawford-Smith or Cranford-Smith. It is written on the blank side of a ledger page which has the wording: Cash Sale, receipt number handwritten in pencil.

f) Number 308 is written on lined paper and is headed: Railway Library Kitchen. It has the signature F C or G Watson signing as Pro Mr Box. The order is for: a tin of 7lb curry.
