About this object
The photograph shows women pushing prams in a race along Hastings Street, Napier. The celebrations were part of the New Napier Week Carnival. These were held in early January 1933, to celebrate the rebuilding of Napier after the 3 February 1931 earthquake. The tram lines can be seen embedded in the road.
