Brief Description
1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
Two meat summary lists for 23 February 1931 and a list of sheep and beef in store on February 23 on a full page and scraps of paper. A batch of receipts dated 23 February 1931 includes one dated 16 February and one dated 20 February. Each receipt has a serial number and some are ticked in pencil or red pencil. All receipts list Inspector Thompson and ask that he receive the goods in good order and condition from the listed depot.
Depots listed are: Nelson Park; Westshore Depot; Shortlands; Harbour Board; Hospital Greenmeadows; Perkins Store; Beharrell School; Terminus Hotel; Siberia Depot; Port Depot; Railway Library; Battery Road; Sidey Hall; Carlyle Street; Hastings Street No.2 and Hawke's Bay River Board.
The receipt dated the 20th is a different form than the others and asks for Inspector Thompson to supply Petane Pā with beef and to charge the account of T Redward. The receipts are signed by T Redward or C McLean.
