Brief Description
Map, Ohiti - Ōmāhu District.
Copy on tracing paper of topographical grid map showing fortified pā's, cultivation areas, eel weirs, rivers, land blocks and burial grounds in the Ngaturawa N02, Ohiti - Waito, Runanga Lake, Mangahake and Herurunui area.
Also shows the fortified Pā near Rahuiroa block and Pohatunui near the Ngaruroro River. Eight eel weirs are noted on the Mangahoreka Stream:
Te Hemo, Kawera A Te Rerehu, among others.
The kautuku swamp can be seen around the Ōmāhu block area near the Orauru stream.

Names not on the above maps are mostly from Captain W Blake's minutes of the Ōmāhu case, heard in Hastings before Judge O'Brien, of the Native Land Court, 1889 - 90 and from the original plans of the Hawke's Bay Crown Lands.
