Brief Description
Notice to Employers by Napier Citizens' Control Committee. The text of the notice reads as follows:
All persons employed and receiving wages since the earthquake will be required to pay for food supplied.
The Committee (Napier Citizens' Control Committee) hereby empowers employers to deduct from wages paid for the period 4 - 20 February inclusive, the sum of 4/- per day.
Employers are called upon to act on this instruction, and to pay into the Secretary's Office borough Chambers, the amount so deducted, not later than 27 February. Applications for the deferring of this payment in special cases should be made to the Secretary as soon as possible.
Employers are asked to assist the Committee by arranging for supplies of meal tickets for sale to employees not later than Friday 20 February.
