Brief Description
Plan, Training Camp at Takapau.
Shows barracks situated adjoining the Porangahau River and the Napier - Takapau railway line. Noted next to the river is the men's bathing area and a space for watering horses.
Adjoining the main railway line is the parade ground and the quarters for Brigade HQ, signal company, field ambulance, 11th regiment, 9 regiment, 7 regiment and 5 regiment.
Next to the troop barracks is the quarters for the field artillery brigade consisting of F. battery, D battery, engineers and J battery.
A locality map showing the area to be at the Oruawharo siding approximately 3 miles North of Takapau.
