Māori lamentations on the death of sir Donald McLean, to the editor of Wananga.

Māori and have written to the editor to show their grief, saying that at 10 past 4, Pākehā and Māori formed a meeting and feast of mourning to express their grief.

Different Māori people spoke of their sadness eg:
Pohipi - Tukai - Rangi with a song and Taupiri also spoke and sang of sorrow for Sir Donald McLean.
