About this object
The photograph shows the front and side of Dr Moore's Hospital, also known as Upoko Poito, on Marine Parade, Napier, after the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake. Large cracks can be seen running through the concrete. The front of the building has tipped backwards causing the centre to collapse.
