Brief Description
Architectural plan and permit, Mr Arthur Corn, post 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
a) Architectural plan for two temporary shops for Mr Arthur Corn in Dickens Street, Napier. Annotations on the plan state that Tait Estate are the owners with Mr C C Willis the lessee and Mr A Corn the sub lessee. The building plan was approved on 8 May 1931with a temporary building permit issued subject to conditions. The plan number is E/31/121.
b) An application to the Napier Citizens Control Committee, Municipal Re-Construction Department by Arthur Corn for a temporary building permit for business premises dated 28 April 1931. The permit lists the location of the business premises, owner's name, estimated cost, fees chargeable, materials to be used in the construction and lists the nature of business as booksellers and confectioner's. The application is signed by Arthur Corn and the permit number is 1165. The building contractor is C Schioler.
c) A handwritten document stating the specifications for the erection of the two temporary shops for Mr Arthur Corn, dated 27 April 1931. It includes the requirements for materials, painting, electrical and plumbing.
d) The documents are in an A4 envelope with printed and handwritten application details, dated 16 May 1931.
