Brief Description
Architectural plan and permit, H M Andersen, post 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
a) Waxed linen architectural plan for proposed shops for H M Andersen Esquire in Dickens Street, Napier on Section 256 in the Napier business district. The plan shows the front elevation, ground plan, side and front elevation, block plan and section on AB. The scale is shown as a quarter inch to the foot and names the builder as N Cole of Hastings Street South, Hastings and Auckland. The plan number is E/31/91. A stamp shows that the building plan was approved on 4 May 1931 and that the permit is only temporary.
b) An application by N Cole and J Hare to the Napier Citizens Control Committee Municipal Re-Construction Department for a temporary building permit for business premises states that the premises are at 53 Dickens Street, Napier. The application details include the owner's name, locality (listed as 43 Dickens Street), section number, nature of business, estimated cost, material to be used in the construction and fees chargeable. The permit number is 1113.
c) A seven page document lists the specifications of the work and materials required for the alterations and additions to the cottage situated upon Section 256 Dickens Street, Napier. The document letterhead names N Cole, Builder and Contractor. The owner of the premises is named as H M Anderson (sic).
d) Documents are in an A4 envelope which lists the application details.
