About this object
The photograph shows the Napier business centre after the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. Construction of new buildings has begun. The Masonic Hotel can be seen on the left of the photograph. Beside it, is the Market Reserve building, located on the corner of Hastings Street and Tennyson Street. There are still some temporary premises visible.
