About this object
The photograph shows the rebuilding of Napier businesses after the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. The image has been taken from Napier Hill looking over Tennyson Street which is in the foreground, and Emerson Street which runs parallel. The skeleton of St Paul's Presbyterian Church can be seen in the foreground. Nash's Garage is clearly visible.
