About this object
The photograph has been taken from Napier Hill after the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. The image shows the remains of the township. In the foreground is the roof of St Paul's Presbyterian Church. Tennyson Street can be seen in the foreground with Emerson Street behind. The Emerson and Dalton building (E & D) is on the right of the image.
