About this object
The photograph shows the back view of Dr Moore's hospital, otherwise known as Upoko Poito, located on Marine Parade, Napier. The building has been destroyed in the 3 February 1931 earthquake. The front of the building has fallen inward causing the middle to collapse. Demolition of the building has begun as the windows along the back wall have been removed and stacked to the side. The interior has been exposed. The Hawke's Bay Club is the Victorian building behind the hospital and the Athenaeum is on the right.
