About this object
Sculptor at work designing the bronze statue of Pania. Written on the back of the photograph is: the figure having been ok'd - is now sheathed in plaster. The statue was made at the Italian Marble Company, Carrara in Italy. The sculptor's name is unknown.
The date of the photograph is unknown, however the statue was unveiled on 10 June 1954, so the statue may have been made the year before.
