About this object
The photograph shows damaged buildings in the business centre of Napier after the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. Very little remains of the buildings other than the exterior walls and chimneys. The skeleton of St Paul's Presbyterian Church can be seen in the middle distance and the Public Trust office is on the left. The road has been cleared of debris to allow vehicle and public access.
