General information reports the establishing of a system for employing those in need as relief workers, in order for them to be able to purchase the necessaries of life. Geological reports show that it is unlikely any further earthquakes will occur. Mention is made of the list of secondary, technical and other schools that have accommodated children, with further offers of accommodation. Missing and deceased persons are listed. Compulsory registration is required for all residents of Hastings in order to receive food or work. The Hawke's Bay Council extend sympathy to those who have lost relatives and friends and praise a member of staff for his work in saving important records. Reports are tabled on infrastructure damage and repairs. The Racecourse Hospital reports the list of patients and the Government postpones the resumption of banking business.
