Brief Description
Nautical map of Napier Port and Harbour showing bluff lights, condition of the sea bed such as gravel, rock and shells.
The map has soundings for the Napier Harbour, Ahuriri Roadstead, Inner Harbour and Ahuriri Lake areas.
Scinde Island, Munroe, Hastings and Carlyle Streets can be seen as well as the completed breakwater, 1895 and the proposed breakwater extension.
Also of note is the asylum and gaol which housed the telegraph and signal station on Coote Road, Scinde Island.
