The map covers Napier City central from Maraenui, Pirimai, Westshore, Ahuriri and Bluff Hill, the borough of Taradale from Auckland Road, Park Road to Guppy Road and Taradale School. Inset at the top left hand corner is of the Napier Central Business District.
Features visible are streets, hotels, theatres, churches, public telephones, city and borough boundaries, the state and provincial highways.
On the reverse written in blue ink is a notation concerning Admiral Hawke who was reported to be friend and patron of Captain Cook, Hence the name of Hawke Bay.
