About this object
The photograph shows Tennyson Street, Napier. Most of the buildings have been destroyed from devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. The exterior walls and rubble are all that remain of some of the buildings. The building on the left, after the section of land with rubble on it, is the skeleton of the Napier Municipal Theatre. The tall white building on the right of the road is the Napier Public Trust office. The debris has been cleared off the street to allow vehicle and public access.
