About this object
The photograph shows Tennyson Street, Napier. Rebuilding of commercial premises has begun after the destruction caused by the 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. The steps, which can be seen in the lower right hand corner, belonged to the destroyed Municipal Theatre. Empty sections can be seen on both sides of the road.
