About this object
The photograph shows the intersection of Dalton and Emerson Streets, Napier. New buildings have replaced those which were damaged in the devastating 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. The reconditioned Emerson and Dalton (E & D) building can be seen on the left. Adjoining it, is the Murdoch building. Next is Masson House and in the middle background, is the two storied Dalgety and Company Limited block of office premises. Hotel Central is on the right. Scaffolding can be seen to the right in the forefront of the image.
