The photograph shows Emerson Street, Napier looking towards Marine Parade. New shops have been built as a result of the devastating earthquake which occurred on 3 February 1931. Kidson's Corner is on the left and the Emerson and Dalton building (E & D) is on the right. The street is lined with traffic.
