Brief Description
Assorted official documents relating to immigration.
a) Undated list of Rates of Wages, including: Tradesmen, per day of 8 hours; Farm and Station Hands; Female Labour; Domestic Servants; Prices of Provisions. The list is in alphabetical order of occupation under each heading, with a list of wages and a column for remarks.

b) Blank birth and death certificates. Signed by the Surgeon-Superintendent and the Immigration Officer.

c) Instructions to the Surgeon-Superintendent of Emigrant Ships of the Government of New Zealand, dated 1873.

d) Immigration, Further Letters from the Agent-General, dated 1878 and presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by Command of His Excellency. Most pages are missing.

e) Memorandum from Treasury, dated 1 June 1878.

f) Memorandum from Treasury, dated 27 May 1879.

g) Advertisement calling for Tenders for the Conveyance of Immigrants and Cargo to New Zealand for twelve months commencing 8 May 1878. The bound packet includes: the title page; Tender for Conveyance of Emigrants and Cargo; Acceptance of Tender for Conveyance of Emigrants and Cargo to New Zealand; Bond; Conditions of Contract for Conveyance of Emigrants and Cargo, general conditions; Schedule of food rations over the course of a week; list of medicines, etcetera, required for every 100 passengers; and other regulations regarding necessary supplies for passengers during the voyage.
