About this object
The photograph shows St John's Anglican Cathedral, Napier, after the 3 February 1931 earthquake and subsequent fire. Only a small section of an exterior wall of the Cathedral remains standing. The walls of the Waiapu Diocesan Office Building and Synod Hall, which was a separate building, can be seen in the background. Browning Street has been cleared of debris to allow for vehicle and public access.
