About this object
The photograph shows Tennyson Street, Napier taken after the devastating earthquake and subsequent fire of 3 February 1931. Only the façades and exterior walls of the commercial buildings have been left standing. The debris from the damaged buildings has begun to be removed and the land cleared. The top of the Public Trust Office can be seen in the centre distance. The Barry Brothers (Bros) Ltd sign is on the left hand side of the road.
