A notebook containing handwritten notes about Home Science School. Written on the front is the title: Home Science, Keep for records, 34 Shakespeare Road, Napier, A [Aileen] M Andersen, Napier, 1961. Inside the front cover are the notes: 4 houses in Havelock North in 1861; Read to various groups - Woodford Lions, Old Girls G H S, High School Alumnae; Aileen M Andersen Girls' High School Napier.

The contents include information on: the decade from 1911 - 1920; the set-up of the education and degrees; Professor W L Boyse-Smith and Miss G H Rawson; Mr Studholme the founder; the students, their habits and thoughts; some anecdotes and stories; the opening of the student house in 1915; her salary, work load and responsibilities; the relationship with Otago University; Manual Training Centres and Secondary Schools and the need for teachers; a comparison to the 1960s campus and classes.
