Brief Description
The architectural plan of the proposed Centennial Memorial which shows the elevation to Marine Parade, Napier.

Fundraising for this design began in 1939 but was halted by World War Two. It was revived again after the war as a combined centennial and war memorial but then dropped in favour of the Guy Natusch War Memorial design.

It's actually the proposed Centennial Memorial for which fundraising began in 1939 and was halted during WWII. Attempts were made to revive the project with a modified version acting as a combined Centennial and War Memorial from 1946-1948 until eventually being dropped in favour of th Guy Natusch War Memorial Hall design.
