Brief Description
Memorial scroll and ephemera related to Percy R Manson.
a) Letter regarding the memorial scroll from L C Forgie, Officer-in-Charge, New Zealand Expeditionary Force War Accounts and Records Office, Wellington. Dated 11 July 1921.
Explains why the memorial scroll is being forwarded to the recipient.
b) Note from Buckingham Palace with a stamped signature from King George V stating that he is grateful for the brave life given in the Great War.
c) Memorial Scroll with King George V's sovereign's crest at the top. Printed passage reads: He whom this scroll commemorates was numbered among those who, at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger, and finally passed out of the sight of men by the path of duty and self-sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others may live in freedom. Let those who come after see to it that his name not be forgotten.
