Object detail

Brief Description
A postcard from Tot Manson to her sister May.

The front of the postcard features a landscape scene of mountains and a lake. The caption reads: 3075 Halls Arm, Smith Sound, New Zealand. On the reverse it reads: M and M Series, New Zealand Postcard, Half penny Inland, One penny Abroad.

Tot Manson writes that she has arrived and is having a grand time and that Het and Jim (Hetty and Jim White) met her at the station. She hopes that little Viv (Vivian Millin) is all right and has more teeth. She sends her love to May and to Fred and requests that any letters be sent to Dannevirke.

There is no postmark or stamp. The date is likely to be around the late 1900s given that Vivian Millin was in primary school in the mid 1910s, and was teething around the time that this postcard was written.
