Brief Description
Letter from Percy R Manson to his mother. Written while on active service in Egypt and dated 15 March 1917. The letter reads:
Dear Mother,
Just a few lines to let you know I am keeping in the best of health & hope you are keeping the same. I received a letter from Tot today. I see by her letter that Walter is home waiting to go into camp. How is Clive getting on. I suppose he has gone up the Main Trunk Line again. I received a letter from France from Vin the other day he told me to remember him to all at home. The weather has been fairly decent of late. We have had a little rain. I suppose you will soon be having the winter in New Zealand again while we will be having the summer. I hope the summer this year won’t be as hot as last. How is Bull & Beaty getting on & that little fat boy of theirs. I bet when I return I will see a difference in him. How is the garden now. I suppose Walter has been weeding it ever since he has been home. We don’t see any gardens here it is nothing but sand. The food is not so bad, we have got a canteen with us now so we can buy milk & golden syrup, so that is not so bad. Well Mother I think I will have to close now as news is scarce here. Hoping this will find you in the best of health. I am
Your loving son
