Leaflet number 5, The Stage Coach and The Taupo Road, published by the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast Art Gallery and Museum.
Printed on the front cover is an oval photograph of the Napier-Taupo Five-Horse Mail Coach with driver Kelly, photographed at Rangitaiki in May 1899 by Mr Russell Duncan.
The leaflet contains an essay about the history of the stage coach and the Napier-Taupo Road. The coach was built by Mr George Faulknor, of Napier. It was drawn by five horses, two at the pole and three leaders.
