Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Percy R Manson.

a) Letter from Trooper Percy Manson to his mother written on 13 October 1917 from Palestine. The letter reads:
My Dear Mother,
Just a few lines to let you know I received your most welcome letter the other day. Very pleased to see that you have all been keeping in the best of health. I also received the money I cabled for alright. I have just returned from Pt Said where I have been on leave for eight days. I had a fairly good time there although the prices are very dear, you cannot get a decent meal under 3/6 there.
You were asking for some photos of me. So I had my photo taken down there so I will be sending you them as soon as they arrive. I don’t suppose they will be much good. The weather is beginning to get cool again, we will soon have winter here. Well Mother I think I will have to close now as news is very scarce here. Hoping these few lines will find you in the best of health.
I am Your loving son
Percy R Manson
